Jeff Allen

PARTNER

Jeff was born and raised in Mississippi, with his family primarily engaged in farming.  Jeff spent summers working for his father who, for most of his 40+ years of farming, grew cotton, soybeans, and corn.  After graduating from Mississippi State with an accounting degree, Ole Miss law school followed.  Admitted to practice in 1997, Jeff immediately began putting his agricultural background to use through litigation related to crop insurance.  In 20 years of practicing law, Jeff has handled crop insurance cases in over 40 states.  He has become a frequent speaker to various crop insurance groups, having been invited to speak at the industry’s annual convention, as well as presentations to crop insurance agents and adjusters alike, with a focus on best practices and claim avoidance.

In addition, Jeff’s practice involves a significant amount of public sector defense (state law and 1983 claims).  As lead counsel, Jeff has successfully tried cases in state and federal court related to jail suicides, excessive force, and wrongful arrests.  Gaming law and trucking / transportation round out Jeff’s primary cases, along with various general tort and corporate matters.
